London mum launches new range of curry sauces

Mamajaan’s brand new range of family friendly healthy curry sauces is the brainchild of working Hampstead mum Anjam Jabeen. 

Anjam said: ‘Londoners love curry and we have really put our stamp on the traditional recipes. 

In India the towns and cities where the curries are created feature in the names of the dishes they make, so why not in London?’ Mamajaan’s range of delicious curry sauces - which includes Belsize Bhuna, Hampstead Harooni and Camden Chitur - proudly marry Anjam’s Punjabi heritage with her current home in North London.

Mamajaan’s began when Anjam used to cook traditional curries with fresh ingredients sourced in London for friends and colleagues at the Anthony Nolan Trust in North London.  News soon spread and before she knew it, she had dozens of people knocking on her door eager for a jar of her freshly made, low fat sauces.

By November 2010, her brand was stocked in Budgens in Belsize Park.   It is now available in Budgens stores across North London (Hampstead, Islington, Crouch End and East Finchley) as well as distinguished food retailer Fortnum & Mason and most recently, The House of Mistry in Hampstead Heath.   Mamajaan’s offers a healthy, hassle-free answer to a quick curry for the whole family.

About Mamajaan’s fresh curry sauces

Mamajaan’s introduces convenience to wholesome family meals, allowing people to create delicious one-pot healthy dishes for the whole family in mere minutes.   All additional ingredients - such as meat and vegetables - can be added to the Mamajaan’s sauce from raw in order to soak up the unique flavours: all cooked in one pot resulting in a far superior ‘homemade’ taste!

Featuring some of London’s most famous postcodes in their name, Mamajaan’s cook-in curry sauces take the stress out of making dishes from scratch and use only fresh, low fat ingredients resulting in richly flavoured Indian curries.

Anjam’s inspiration for Mamajaan’s came from the time she spent in rural Punjab as a child, taking cooking lessons from her grandmother who used the abundance of fresh produce available on her farm, from home reared, roasted meat to fragrant mangoes from their garden tree to make richly flavoured sauces.
