Masala Beans for your taste buds

Spicy tomato onion gravy can easily prepare at home if you have short of time. Masala beans are nutritious health diet and goes well with steamed rice or roti/naan.

  • Prep Time 10 mints
  • Cook Time 30 mints
  • Serves 2-3

Ingredients:

  • Red kidney beans 2 cups (soaked overnight)
  • Onion 2 (Finely cut)
  • Bay leaves 2
  • Ginger/garlic 1 tsp (Chopped)
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Red chili power 2 tsp
  • Tomatoes 2 (Chopped)
  • Hot spices powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 2 tsp
  • Fresh coriander for garnishing

Cooking Directions

  1. Boil beans in 4 cups; add salt, set aside,
  2. Heat oil in a pot; add cumin, bay leaves, asafetida and ginger/garlic powder/paste and fry till golden.
  3. Add onions and fry
  4. Add turmeric, red chilies, coriander, tomatoes and fry till oil separates.
  5. Add beans along with water and salt and cook till water dries.
  6. Sprinkle hot spices on beans and keep on slow heat.
  7. Serve delicious masala beans garnished with coriander.
