Icon Valley project appreciated at Oxford Eid party

Special Correspondent, London

The participants of Eid Milan Extravaganza organized jointly by Pakistani and Indian societies of the Oxford University largely lauded the idea of the Icon valley’s overseas project.

Speaking at the eid Milan party CEO Icon Valley project Zia Mohiuddin said, “We have come up with a novel idea of international standard in place of traditional residential flats. We have changed the project into resort –cum- residential society. It would be like purchasing a house in a five-star hotel. In the first phase only 250 units would be offered for sale. The Icon Valley project is situated at Raiwind Road. Its total area is 208 canals.”

The PR and marketing head of the project Aneeqa Malik said the purpose of her presence here was to introduce the project to the community. She said a large number of people from the community lived here who served as the backbone of the country’s economy.

“Our roots are in Pakistan and we remain always anxious about its well being. This is the time we should come forward and make some investment there. This project would definitely generate job opportunities for the people of that country.”

She informed that the structural work has been completed and added the people here would naturally want to visit that country and spend some time there. “The Icon Valley project is the first tourist resort of its kind which provides for all sorts of recreation and sports facilities. She said that the millionaire club would be ready within next two years after which its membership would be opened.”

Councillor Altaf Khan said the project is a positive effort although people have some fears in their minds in the backdrop of the situation prevailing in Pakistan but such projects would recover their confidence and he considered it as a new hope for those who wanted to invest in that country.

One of the participants Tahir Chaudhry said he liked the project especially because it is meant exclusively for the overseas community. One Jamil Akhtar said the higher quality of the project attracted the people.

Ch. Mohammed Akram said the people settled here or in America have different life style and if such projects exist in Pakistan the people from here would feel no feeling of alienation. The facilities provided by the Icon Valley would suit best to the people living in the West. If someone would purchase a plot in any other project there would be risk of unauthorised occupation and security while in the Icon Valley there would be complete security.

Khawar Ali said those who do not go to Pakistan due to difference of life style and other issues could definitely be tempted to visit that country.

Later, Managing Director Icon Valley Kashif Javaid briefed the participants about the project .Earlier, Ali Jan described the plight of the flood victims in Sind and appealed for fund raising for Sind Small Growers Association which would be spent on provision of food to 100 families of Sanghar. Some 1100 pounds were collected on the spot for the purpose. Gurpeet Channa performed Hang instrument, Pooja Jaiswal Kathak dance while Naseer Irfan and Group enthralled the audience with ghazals. A tableau based on Faiz’s poem was also presented.
